Updates on Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)
With counties in our college district in Phase 2 re-opening of selected businesses and services, we remind everyone Oregon’s community colleges are NOT included in this re-opening. Southwestern's Coos and Curry campuses remain closed to the general public. Staff will continue to assist students via phone, online and email.
Any on-campus interaction will adhere to strict social-distancing guidelines, in accordance with state and local guidance:
- Employees are required to try to maintain social distancing (6 feet apart).
- Face coverings are required when unable to maintain social distancing.
Summer Term 2020 Online Classes are June 22 - August 13
Throughout summer, Southwestern’s Coos and Curry campuses will remain closed to the general public. During this time, staff will begin preparations for a phased-in re-opening of on-campus services for students for fall term, and procedures for protecting the health of students and staff. The college’s procedures will comply with federal and state guidelines for social distancing and safety protocols for higher education institutions. Refer to the Summer Term Re-Opening plan in the "Resources" section for details.
The student recreation center will have a limited re-opening Monday, July 6, specifically for students, staff and enrolled community members. The center schedule and guidelines will comply with social distancing and COVID-19 operational guidance. The details about these changes and the scheduling app can be found at the Rec Center website.
