Description
Within this course, students will read/review Romeo and Juliet as well as view the many film/stage adaptations of the famous story. Students will have an opportunity to take a deeper look at the famous "romance" that has played a major role throughout history. What makes Romeo and Juliet compatable? Which gender-roles do they assume? By breaking down the relationship between multiple characters in the story, students will gain a better understanding and awareness of the gender issues present within Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Where does their romance start and tragedy begin? We will explore the answer and so much more within this course.
