Description
This workshop focuses on building strong observational skills through a carefully staged still life. Participants will work from a tabletop arrangement of objects: fabric, vessels, natural forms, and symbolic items, and learn how light, shadow, and composition create meaning in an image. Emphasis is placed on seeing accurately, mixing color from observation, and translating three-dimensional space into a convincing painted surface. Students will practice blocking in shapes, establishing value structure, and developing a painting from loose underpainting to finished surface.
