International folk dancing involves a group of happy people learning traditional ethnic dances in a circle, line, couple, trio, longways sets or individual formation. Some of the countries represented are: Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Albania, Turkey, Russia, Israel, Greece, Armenia, Scotland, along with a smattering of dances from many other countries. There is an endless variation of styles and rhythms, with many beautiful and unusual musical arrangements. Folk dancing is great exercise and a fun recreational activity. Dancing is beneficial for stress-reduction and cardiovascular stimulation. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming; the suggested dress is cool, comfortable clothing. This is a beginner level class for people 12 years of age and older. No experience necessary.
