Description

An introduction to the one true American music genre. Exploring the beginning of jazz, early blues, Dixieland, the big band era, bebop, fusion, free form jazz, contemporary jazz, and straight ahead jazz. Students will also be introduced to rhythm and blues, gospel and early rock and roll. This course has been approved to meet the Cultural Literacy requirement.
