Description

Signed English is a version of sign language that is a combination of American Sign Lanuage (ASL) signs, modified ASL signs, and/or unique English signs. Signs are learned with the intention of communicating in English using English grammar. This form of sign language does have practical applications but is not used within the Deaf community. This form of sign is commonly used by the hearing for the hearing as a supplement to spoken language as an enrichment tool.
